You make a nice cable splice. Have you tried making any lures from scratch?

Red,

All i can say is wow. I'm always amazed at the rigging you do and some of the ideas are really interesting . . .

I wish I could afford to hire you as my deckhand!

P.S. you remember that old haywire twist pic haha!

No, but now I'm intrigued - that looks great. What's the flexible squid skirt called, so that I might order some to go with the Islanders? Also what size hooks do you recommend?

Google 'bulb squid'. Size varies with different weight egg sinkers. Hooks as you prefer for different sizes.

Red try an orange skirt in the middle of a sunny day. I've rigged 10 1oz eggsto the crimps as well as 2 8oz and single 16ozers I like the 10 singles as I can keep it in the water better.

The orange dacron will get eaten as soon as the main bait is taken for the original poster to think about

Thanks, I'll rig a few with 10 1oz. Orange and also pink have been hot colors down here too.

Considered that, but thought orange color would wash-out fairly shallow in the water column.

I made a pink/blue to test on a sunny day if the seas ever lay down in the northern gulf.

Hi-speed ball bearing swivels CAN be put on backwards. The pics and notes are accurate. the seam should be towards the lure, not the rod.

I'll give it a shot and if it dosen't work at 1 lb ... I'll try it with one of my trolling sinkers (high speed). If that dosen't work I'll $hit can it.
