Marty's big halibut, 44". No scale on the boat but we were thinking 35lb +.
My hockey party on Saturday night had me hurting Sunday morning. Plan was to lay on the couch and watch TV. That soon changed.
Vince was back from his camping trip and got the green light to do an afternoon trip. Plan was to target some of the halibut that have moved in recently. Joining us on Vince's boat the Big Drum was Martin aka The Looper. From the sounds of it, Saturday was bad to him too.
Got on the water around 445p. Tried to buy some bait but they were closed. Luckily there was a guy there dumping his bait so he gave us the rest. Very cool and thank you.
New for the trip was video. Martin got a new camera and the video on it is really good. Pretty funny stuff.
Set up the first drift. Three dines in the water. Vince and Martin cast out plastics and in the first drop Martin gets picked up. Turns out to be a big 44" halibut.

Set up a second drift and one of the bait rods gets hit. I pulled in a nice 8-10lb halibut.

We move to a new spot that I thought would be good and sure enough Vince gets bit instantly. A nice 12-13lb halibut.
Then it was off to target some bass. Instant hook-up. Lots of double and a few triple hook-ups. All bass caught on BH and Bass Trix. VS lead heads.
