Well folks i know it's getting boring hearing about how the fishing just keeps getting better...but to be honest there is just no getting around what kind of madness is happenning out there right now...as great as it has been...it just got a whole heck of a lot better...
After waking up from my coma from new years night i took the 40 offshore at 4pm yesterday afternoon and managed to hook 5 fish in one hour...not a bad start to the new year but nothing compared to the damage we endured out there today...
I had Steve D and Bogii out today on the 40 Cabo and to say we set a new bar would be an understatement...in all of my days of offshore fishing i have never had a day where giant tunas went as ballistic as they did today...
From 8:00am when we arrived at the rock to 6:00pm when we left we had fish on basically non-stop...the only moments we weren't bendo on double or triple or quadruple headers of giants was when we ran out of bait and had to catch more...we burned through almost 2 hrs of video tape today and let me tell you...you are going to want a copy...
Whew...man...where to start...i am literally vibrating...
Steve D has had an incredible week of fishing...unless we decide to go again in the moring to add a few more 200#ers to his tally...he will finish the week with 8 fish over 200#'s and literally too many other fish just below 200 to count...Steve released 2 fish today that were pushing 250 and 270#'s to add to the one he already had on deck...nevermind the others that went just under 200...
Bogii nailed a solid one near 250#'s just after breaking another one off that was definitely well over 200...Largo caught a 130#er on a popper in the middle of a feeding frenzy that saw us go 5 for 12 or something like that on poppers, skip iron, skipjack...you name it...at one point i had a monster on from the tower that i hooked on a skip iron...Oscar had another beast on a popper...Largo immediately hooks another one on another popper...Bogii is grinding on his 250#er and Steve is running around the boat with the video camera trying to keep up...then Steve puts the camera down and tosses out a jig and hooks a dorado on the skip iron as HUGE...HUGE...tunas are literally foaming 5 feet away from the boat...PEOPLE IT IS HAYWIRE OUT THERE!!!!!
I dunno...i am emotionally and physically SPENT...tapped out...ready for a fat plate of comida and some much needed sleep...i don't think this sport gets any better than this...great friends...great equipment...unbelieveable boat...and memories to last 10 lifetimes...PINCH ME I'M DREAMING...
Thanks to Largo...Comando...and Oscar for working their asses off out there today...what a team...

Josh has posted at least 50 pics to date of these tuna and marlin on this site and 1000's on other sites, so I suggest its time you guys make a reservation if you want more than cheap photo thrill.
This is not gonna last forever- in years past there were a lot of +300 pounders caught. With the exception of a 375 lb fish, I haven't heard of any real large toads so far this season, or am I wrong?
You guys [ Jeff and Josh ] know were just having fun with ya , right.
I'm just, well , Jealous , Cuz of the TOTALLY AWESOME FISHING you guy's have year round and I can only have dial up so its no online video for me where I'm at so Josh if you have a video out I would be glad to buy one.
PM or e-mail me.
Lester
