FISHING IN LOS ROQUES !!!! NICE NICE NICE !!!
Hi ,
I return from LOS ROQUES , and I can tell you that it was a wonderful time.
I would like to forward some pictures but they do not describe how nice it is . I will try to post a few.
I am not a fly fisherman , but I think that the only problem for those who practice is the wind. During our 3 days fishing we record : 10 knots the first day / 15 knots thje scnd day / 20 knots the last day.
We used plugs and jigs , so it was not an issue.
I suppose that you want to know if the bones were ther : Thoussands of bones . the first day in one hour I took around twenty, from the boat . But they was small ( 1 pound / 1 1/2 pound) . Me and my wife decided to stop and we fished around the refs for yellowtail snappers and jacks . The yellowtails are big and abound , and even in 40 feet of water they come and take the poppers . the biggest yellowtails snappers averages 2 1/2 pounds .
We also had a lot of fun fishing from the beach with jigs . there are some places with reefs close to the shore. There are plenty of groupers (small one brown with blue spots) and some snappers. The strikes and fights between the rocks an corals are great.
In LOS ROQUES , no hotels but very comfortable lodges . At LA CIGALA , freindly people good service and charming place. The caïpirinha (rhum & lemon) after the fishing day was a great time.
The fishing program was arranged by Carlos LEIVA , he came at the airport in CARACAS to pick us up and to lead us at the hotel . He is a very freindly guy and everything was OK . You can contact him on is website FISHING LOS ROQUES .COM .
I found this adress on yahoo.
