Default Going to Stuart FL area this weekend...what to do

I'll be there beginning Thursday night. I wouldn't mind an afternoon of fishing Saturday - perhaps fly quarry?

Aside from fishing, what is a good hotel near some night life? Single fisherman here

If you are going to Stuart, you have to make it the "square grouper" in Jupiter (about 25 minutes south of Stuart) - the bar Alan Jackson sang about. It's at the entrance of Jupiter inlet, immediately south of the lighthouse. Cool place to drink a cold beer.

Jupiter is a long drive from Stuart if you're bar hopping. In Stuart you've got the area called Downtown Stuart with several bars of different varieties, pretty good dining as well. Its not exactly a South Beach hotspot but not bad for a small town. Wahoo's might be the most active night spot, just north of the big bridge on US1. A couple miles up Indian River Drive in Jensen Beach there's a place called Crawdaddy's...very authentic New Orleans-style cajun atmosphere with cold beer and the best crawfish ettouffe outside of Louisiana. Lastly, one of my favorites, not sure if it recovered from last year's hurricanes, is Conchy Joe's where the Jensen Beach Causeway meets Indian River Drive, right around the corner from Crawdaddy's. Its a Keys-like atmosphere with a cool reggae band on Sunday night. Keep in mind that the whole area has two industries: tourism and retirees...everything caters to them, which means dining is very good.

Are you going to Stuat or do you want a hotel near some good night life Kinda like the Panga versus Contender argument.

If you have a car, I would hit the Square Grouper.

Locally, in Stuart Wahoos is alright, especially if you are lokking for older, single women who smoke like chimnies. Downtown has the Ashley. The Black Martlin down town has some good food. Best seafood (IMHO) is King Neptune in Salerno. The bar at Fins around teh corner is ok.

Are you fishing from a boat or land?

I will be boatless. I booked the Pirates Cove, opting for at least a salty environment. I do have a car though.
