I'm in central arkansas and try to catch striper that are in lake Ouachita. The Best bait is shad which is running about 15' deep right now. Is it possible to catch shad that deep with a mullet net? Anyone ever tried? I usually catch shad below the dam or on the arkansas river, either way takes me forever and I don't have the right stuff to keep them alive for long. Thanks Everyone.

I also fish with shad. Formerly used them fishing for stripers but as of late used them to bait for catfish on jug lines (noodles). You will need to modify your cast net for shad below 15 feet.
