Default spreader bar

I am looking to re-rig my spreader bar with squid. the question is what size, weight, are the most popular. i have a 36inch bar with three rows. mold craft makes a nice 5inch but it looks too heavy and might pull the bar down. Help the tuna should arrive soon in NC

Check out our web site at http://www.reeldraggintackle.com
We use bulb squid and those that look like the Mold Craft squid you are probably talking about.
All of our squid are between 6 and 9 inches and rigged to float. We have lots of pictures to show how we rig and if you want more just ask. We think the three line system is the best; its light, simple, less prone to tangle, and has consistantly produced great results all over the world.

YF, Early in NC they use alot of Blue/White squids , Then later the greens, the Rainbow colors are popular, I actually bought 1 of the Reel Draggin bars, even though I usually make my own. They have a block of poly in the line that should throw alot of water, I'm interested to drown it to see what it does.

While our bars are designed to be trolled slightly out of the water, you bring up a good point. Splash bars (spreader bars with birds) have also been great producers. We are having birds spicifically designed for our bars .. you think the poly throws water .. wait till you see these!

put floats in the bulbs of the squid bring a bag of splitshot so you can tune the bar to run straight sometimes they run to the left or right alittle put some or one at a time splitshot on the side you want it to go to till it runs straight back you'll know when you have it right

Take a look at the 8.5 -9 inchers. What material is your bar...????? That will help determine how many of what size you can pull on it.
