Need Advice. Length of wire and florocarbon leader?

How many inches of wire leader should I have on a live bait King rig? Is 18" of single strand about right ? I plan on attaching the wire to a florocarbon leader that is about 10 feet long so I can wind some of the florocarbonon the reel. Is that a waste of florocarbon? Would just 3 or 4' be enough to hide my hi-vis line? What is your set-up for trolling livebait for Kings. Thanks.

Use as much flourocarbon as you can afford to use.

Use as little wire as you can get away with and still avoid break offs. For me this is about 18".
