Default Kingfish? Striper? Update your Avets now for lighter drag!! Update spool tension knob.

Harry and Alisa at Avet will listen to your requests! They just sent me new tension adjustment knobs for 6 of my Avets....The spool tension knob has been updated with two tiny spring loaded ball bearings that keeps your spool tension knob from loosening by keeping constant tension at very light settings...... We used to have to take the reels apart, remove spacers and replace the spacers with small spring washers supplied by Avet. With the new knobs, you can set the drag to just a few pounds......The older knobs can be identified by removing them, turning them over and looking for either the two little spring loaded balls (new type) or the older type which have 6 or 8 little indention bars placed around the knob....When your tension knob is loose with the old style, the knob just spins and has no detent to keep your setting....and allowing the knob to spin with use of the reel.
