Default Books/Clubs for Florida fishing

My dad, who is 72 years old, lives in Ft Meyers FL during the winter months. He was an avid fisherman in New England, but now seems out of his element regarding his new local fishing scene.

Any suggestions on books about fishing the area and perhaps local fishing clubs to join would be appreciated.

First buy him a subscription to Florida Sportsman magazine, then a membership in the local CCA Chapter. On the west coast of Florida the local CCA's function as fishing clubs... That's Coastal Conservation Association. You can google them up under CCA- Florida. They're a great outfit, I donate trips for auction to them each year (and also Texas, and Louisiana).

Done and done. Thanks Captain.

Some sort of reference book that discusses various ways to rig for the different species and the types of places they inhabit is the next thing I'm looking for. He basically fished from shore with either bait or plugs.
Thanks again.
