Having a marlin's bill that close to my unprotected butt is suicidal, and that girl catching that tuna really pissed me off. But I am finally going to go next week, full moon or not.

Ya my first Striped Marlin was a 175lb (based on girth measurements) out of a sevylor 9' inflatable zodiac with 9hp motor. We trolled with a one lure/rod spread on a 20 lb uglystick/penn Spinning rod of the East Cape of Baja. The charters were having a blast taking pics of us fighting that bad boy. Anything is possible in Mexico!

To catch a cow is my dream, and probably the dream of a lifetime for a lot of other guys. I am not a sexist, but I can just hear the conversation from this lady with her friends after the trip:

Harry made be work my butt of on my vacation catching this darn fish that almost pulled my arms off for 4 hours, oh lets not talk anymore about that now as I heard there's a new shoe store opening at the mall and I don't have a thing to wear.

Two weeks ago, three Mexican fellows, on their first trip out in a boat in a place that never sees marlin over 150 lbs, all fight and boat a 790 lb black marlin. First trip.

This fish had my name all over it for years, thousands of gallons of gas, etc, etc.

The following week, this lady lands a 200 lb tuna, probably with the help of the crew.

Sorry, I'm just jealous.

Bull, we know the 3 guys and the woman all have beginers luck, they should all stay home cuz they will never catch better fish than those.

I'm jealous too.

BTW I'd rather be lucky than smart ANYDAY~ Wait! I AM~!!!

Hang in there Bullshipper~ you're marlin/tuna will come someday. ALWAYS be prepared!

Oh what a surprise, we got a rise out of Jane on this one. But all kidding aside, thanks for not serving me my just deserts in your mannerly reply

I catch a lot of 100-300 pound marlin and 15- 75 lb tuna, but a 750-200 combo just turns me green.

Hey Bully ~ You know that I'd go fishing with you ANYDAY!! (Whether I had any luck or not ~ Ha!)

And all kidding aside as well ~ I know what you mean. It does kinda suck that here you are - out there fishing for YEARS waiting on that "BIG ONE" and these guys (and gal) come along on YOUR FISHING TURF and WHOOSH~!! What kind of "fishing justice" is THAT!?

Just goes to prove - life ain't fair.....but hey - if it was we'd still b!tch about it.

I have to give Welder a hard time cuz.....well, mostly cuz he DESERVES IT! HA!!!

BTW ~ I think I'm going to change my signature name to "Fishing QUEEN"~!!

Bullshipper, Where in Mexico are you? I have a place in San Carlos, Sonora. We are already loosing the Tuna and Bills. Going to be bottom fishing shortly.

We had a great year with Bills. One day, my son and I caught 7 in 4 hours, landed 4 (and released). Had one Sail that bolted before we could release him. He ran directly into the outboard with such force, he laid his head open about 6". That was quite*a force to split that boney head, would not want to be in a Kayak.*

I lived in Hermosillo for 18 years and fished 3 days a week either in San Carlos or on the NW side of Tiburon Island with the Seri's.

I am now in San Luis Potosi down south and fish Barra de Navidad, Cabos, Tampico, and am moving one of my boats to Vallarta.

Everyone in San Carlos knew me as Hermosillo Jeff.
