A "Good News" New Orleans report I just caught an interview on the radio where the guest was a DEQ water quality expert. He reports that over 80% of the monitoring stations are back up and running along Lake Ponchatrain and they are taking regular readings. As of today, every monitoring station (with the exception of the Bonable Boat launch) has shown readings of as good or better when compared to pre-Katrina monitoring. The water in the Lake is safe to swim in, take food from, etc. There are currently NO HEALTH ADVISORIES issued for the lake or any of the down stream areas.
Now my question is where is CNN. They worked overtime to scare the hell out of people that our water was going to be a superfund site. They scared a lot of people off from the area, where are they now???? |
