Default fort Lauderdale fishing/charter suggestions

Ok, I'm doing a last minute trip to Lauderdale for a bachelor party. We were orginally going to go to New Orleans......obviously that's out. They finally decided on Lauderdale and I was wondering how the fishing is down there right now what's the best thing to go after and any suggestions on charters in that area. We are going to either charter a boat, or rent a 27 foot BW with 250 Verado's and just screw around, my friend that's driving from Tampa can bring some rods & tackle, but we don't really know where to go. Any suggestions or advise?

I chartered Capt. Kunta Smith on the Lady Pamela II a few weeks ago. Great trip! Amberjack, Kings Grouper and Snapper. Missed alot of fish due to sharks. Call him on (954)476-8045 tell him his African friend sent you and say hi to him and Wally for me.

Btw, it was Patudo who linked me up with him. The guys been fishing all over the world and knows his stuff. Charter so you don't have to do a darned thing on the boat other than crank reels!!

I would drive down to Miami and look at chartering Bouncer Smith, Dean Panos, Dave Kostyo or a jhost of many others who have light tackle charters. This will put you more in the action than the bigger boats out of Ft Lauderdale. If you are chartering out of Ft Lauderdale I would do a Swordfish charter with Kunta. The sword bite has been hot in the last week or so.

All of the above suggestions are who I have and would recommend. Kunta on the Lady Pamela has an older 36' Hatteras? sportfish which has a cabin and is more comfortable and he knows how to catch fish. The other guys run larger center consoles and also can catch fish when no one else can. I would seriously consider a swordfish charter at night, it is really the best bite going right now. I went 2/3 last Thursday.

Rent the Whaler from Lauderdale Marina, thats my cousin's outfit. That 27 is a nice ride.

Kunta actually said that Bouncer was another good option. Problem is he runs a center console. Kunta has a 40ft Hatteras with air conditioning (it is hot down there) and a nice big couch.
