Default Re: Avet Drag v. Accurate Drag

I have an Accurate Boss 665 HXM and the AVET EXW4/02. As stated earlier, the EXW4/02 is much heavier and dimensionally larger than the 665. That said, for the money, drag capabilities and features, I think its hard to find a reel to compete.

All together, my crews and I use 4 EXW4/02s and none of them have missed a beat over 2 years of hard bottom fishing for nig groupers, AJs etc etc. However, if you were going to get an EX, get the EX4/02 (non-wide version) and load it with 80lb braid, you can load over 500m of 80lb TUF Line XP on. The drags put out over 30lbs of drag and the drag plate is titanium with carbonfibre drag washers on both sides of the plate, so you won't have any drag corrosion issues like I have seen with stainless steel drag plates and the reel is really easy to maintain.

Regards,

DFM
