Default Help with Eagle Claw hook holder

I got the Snelled Hook Holder from Eagle Claw.

Can somebody tell me how to use it? :-)

I am sure its basic, but I can not figure it out.

Its got spring loaded hooks on one end and slots that look like they would hold the fishing hook on the other end.

Problem is the leader is way too long and there is no pin to wrap the extra line around.

Thanks for any support.

Don't feel bad, I gave mine away because I couldn't figure out how to use it either.

I'm back untangling the mess when I need another hook and leader

Thanks for the moral support Joe. I ended up customizing mine with some screws to act as pins to wrap the leaders around. Can't say it will hold 256 hooks, but it works out OK.

Here's an idea I came up with that works great for hooks on leaders.

Go to pool store or sporting goods store (that carries pool stuff, floats...). Buy one of those $3 6' long foam tubes, about 4" round used as a float to play with in the pool (for kids I guess?). Cut the tube into 1' sections and then take wooden shishkabob sticks and stick thru the middle of the 1' peice of tube every inch or so. Make the kabob stick stick out both sides about 1/2 inch, glue the stick with hot glue (or similar) so it doesn't move (slide).

DONE. To use it, place the loop on the end of the leader over one end of one of the sticks sticking out, wrap the leader around the tube and stick the hook into the foam to keep tight.

Each peice will hold about 10 or 20 hooks/leaders and can easily be stored.

Joe,
I have given up on Buzzards Bay. I hooked a couple early in the season when the Herring were running only to have my leaders fail and lose the fish.
When looking for Stripers I travel out to the Islands. About a 20 mile run to Robins Hole. Middle ground seems to hold some good fish too, but I have only seen them jumping. Maybe I should be using a net. :-)
I might give the Buz Bay another try during the week, but it doesn't seem like they're around. I think the water temp has gotten too hot for them

And hey did you see the Kayak for sale in the trading dock.
