Default Shimano Tyrnos

Lever Drag Reel. Is anyone familiar with these or had the chance to use them? If so, opinions please.

Hey Fishie !,
The Tyrnos are not available yet. They are still being tweaked (according to a Shimano rep). I saw the rep's samples and they look pretty good.

I saw one for sale this weekend at Roy's Bait & Tackle here in Corpus. Damn fine looking reel. $249, may have to pick one up soon. SM

It sounds like Shimano is in the midst of re-tooling much of their saltwater lineup. First the new Calcutta B's, then Tiagra's, the Tyrnos -- and now the Shimano TORSA. Here's a link to a :30 spot with Larry Dahlberg....

Looks like this will be a souped-up Tyrnos with changeable gears and drags!!

Wonder when it'll come out?

off topic, but...
who comes up with the ridiculous names for their reels?
do they sit around in a conference room passing the bong and making up words?

carry on...

Torsa's should be available in 2-3 weeks in the 20 and 30 size. Just fished the reels in Key West last week. They are amazing.
