 best knots for braided lines?

Just learned a new knot from Ricky (owner) of Fishermans World in Norwalk, CT. Knot was shown to him by the Power Pro rep for attaching a fluro leader. This knot is great. Tested it out at 100%, is a clean knot that will easily pass through the guides. If you can, stop by and have him show it to you. I will try to explain here. Fist you need to double up the braid. I use a double overhand knot. You will need about 6" - 9" of double braid. Lay the two lines together with the tag ends facing in opposite directions. Wrap the braid around the Fluro 6-8 times. Next, wrap the Fluro 6-8 times around the braid. You need to keep the wraps below the knot in the braid. Once you have completed the wraps, take the tag end of the fluro and pass it through the loop in the braid. Then pull hard on the fluro. You will will get a tight wrap of the fluro on the outside.
This knot takes about 30 seconds to tie once you get the hang of it. |
