I am looking at buying several new reels in the 50# class. I will be using them only 6-8 times a year, so economy is a consideration. I have looked at the Okuma Titus series in both gold and silver. I have been told that the two reels are identical internally, the only difference accounting for the $100 or so price difference being the gold annodized finish on the Gold series. Is that true? If anyone knows I would appreciate your answer.
Doesn't Okuma make 3 grades of reels? The regular Titus, the silver and the gold. If you're really on a budget I think the plain old Okuma Titus 50 is the same as the Silver upgrade with a graphite finish.
