Ashville is nice . The hurricane worries should be broached. They do come around but it is more of a preperation and insurance thing than anything else. Oh, and knowing when to just pull up and leave!

Seriously though the coastal regions are great and each region offers up different attributes than others so spend some time in the car and take some time to check it out. There is a true give and take between towns so it will depend on you and the families comromise.

Of course I have heard Maine is great too!

Default relocating to northcarolina

I've spent my entire life living in NC. I lived in the Wilmington area for 9 years. I now frequent other parts of the NC coast, and like them all. But given a choice, I would move back to the Wilmington/ Wrightsville Beach area above all others without hesitation.

I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area and couldn't have asked for a better childhood. I even stayed in the area for college (go Seahawks). Since then I've also traveled extensively throughout the Carolinas, and would choose that area over any other. A close second would be the Crystal Coast from Beaufort to Morehead City/Atlantic Beach to Swansboro. Third would be southern NC, Ocean Isle Beach/Sunset Beach, etc. Can't go wrong with any of those.
