are there any reports of stripers being caught in Southers new england yet? preferably cape cod? if not when do they usually come to cape cod meaning nantucket/ vineyard sound?
I have seen stripers show up every year like clockwork the first week of May. The scouts show up the last week in April. (South side of Cape Cod, Mashpee, MA, Falmouth, MA).
the rivers are busting with schoolies and some 24 inchers here in CT. CT River, Housatonic, and a few others, Iwould say that since the water temp is from 42-46 degrees, you still have a month to go, yes, around the first week in May.
can we grab herring from rivers in Falmouth? Eel River etc? And if the answer is affirmative, anyone want to divulge any secrets of where a good spot would be. I'm fishing the cape now and I haven't a clue of how to get them. When I fished Boston Harbor I would always get them at the Mystic Lakes falls!
yea boy!
