New Penn 10KG

I picked up two of these reasonably priced beauties this past week. Spooled with 50 yds 20# backing, 400 yds of 50# Powerpro, with a 200 yd topshot of Yozuri mono. I put them on a couple of borrowed custom trolling rods for a little offshore adventure this past weekend. The drags on these two reels are like poetry.. in fact when we were setting drag tensions on all the gear before going out, they were smoother than the Internationals, the Senators, and equal to the TLD's.

Probably use them the most for stripers/inshore trolling & chunking and as offshore backups. Looking for suggestions for a 6 1/2' roller tip rod that I can put an aftco 20 butt on that will not cost over $200 each....

I couldn't agree more about how great these reels are. I have two on my boat matched with two 5'6 TICA rods. I use them mostly for ground fishing in deep water.
