Default Green Harbor / Plymouth Slip

I would like to keep my boat in the Green Harbor / Plymouth area this spring to get me closer to the cod fishing at stellwagen. I moor the boat in Buzzards Bay...but that's one hell of a ride out to the bank. I know that many folks don't put there boats in the water until later in the season, so it appears the space is available in April and early May, but I don't know who to conctact or where to start ....Is it even possible to pay someone to use there slip or is this handled directly through the marina? What could I expect to pay as a transient rate at that time of year?? If anyone can shed some light on this or provide contact info for Marina's in that area it would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks....

Anthony

You can usually get into Brewers Marine in Plymouth during that time of year as long as you are out by Mid-May to early June. Their main number in Plymouth is 508-746-4500.

Parker,

You might want to talk to some of the places in the North/South rivers. A lot of yahoos do the July 4th - Labor day thing. My guess is there's some leeway here...

Good luck.

The folks at brewers are good people and should be able to help you out.

You might also be able to get into Taylor Marine in Green Harbor that time of year and green harbor is an easier run than plymouth to the bank. It takes about fifteen minutes just to get out of plymouth harbor and to the point of the beach whereas GH is a straight shot out of the harbor. I used to mate on a few charter boats out of green harbor and its pretty lively during the mornings of early cod season. Taylor is a popular spot for alot of the cod charter boats that need to come down from the north shore etc. and stay a few weeks to run some charters. Call Taylor Marine in Marshfield or Brewers in Plymouth and your chances of getting in one of them for the early season are pretty good. Let us know how you make out. I have a mooring in plymouth, dont know if ill be in the water then or not, i just sent in the renewal for my commercial cod permit. Good luck.

Guys,

Thanks for the info. Hooligan, I'll definitetly check out Taylors. I tried Green Harbor Marina...they said it would be roughly $1500 to keep the boat there for the month of April. Seems kind of high considering the number of empty slips I would think they have empty this time of year. I'll let you know how I make out.

Hooligan...

Just got off the phone with Taylor's. $2.50 per foot per week for April and than $4.00 begining in May. So April would run me $250 for the April and another $200 for first couple weeks in May. Not bad....thanks . A few decent Cod trips would make it worth it.

Thanks Again....
