Default Light Tackle Topshots?

Does any body use flouro topshots on light tackle mono setups? Say 8-15 lb line. I have heard that this may be an advantage for spooky fish. I am talking about mono, with a flouro top-shot, not braid.

doughnot,

I use floro top shots when fishing for tuna on light tackle. I use 15ft of 30 or 40 tied direct to the double line with a double overhand knot. The double line is tied with a bimini twist. I use circle hooks so the light floro works great. The steathier the better.

i use flourocarbon leaders on all my rigs. i fish with 8 and 10 lb test. i tie the leader to the line using a double surgeons knot. the leader is then tied to the jig or plug using a loop knot. i generally use 20lb flouro or go a little heavier if i'm targeting snook

I use to use a top-shot for spooky Reds and Trout, now I just use a 5-6 foot Seaguar Flurocarbon leader.

Now Mr. Snooky is a different story altogether, Ande 16 lb, tourney line, Bimini twist (25-40 turns) and 15-20 feet of 40-60 lb Seaguar fluro leader for live baiting. When throwing plugs, spoons, and shallow runners or soft bodies to Mr. Snooky I drop down to 20-25 lb leader.
