Anyone ever see, use, know of Stike-Zone Rods?**** I've seen there rods on Ebay a few times, trolling rods that come with a straight and bent butt.* They look nice and are priced nice, are they any good?

Team Rock On - 2/18/2005 8:57 PM Are they any good? A good butt, $100. Good roller guides, $60, a good blank $60. At $179, I'd bet they are a little less than "good".
Huh?*** Not sure what your saying!*** Your either saying, "the parts that SHOULD be used cost $220, and they are only charging $179, so they must not be good".* OR, you are saying...* hmmmm, what are you trying to say?
Anywho, they ones I've seen are $220 for two of them or $400 for 4 of them.**

Bird ... add it up ... even if they are quailty componants it's still low grade Labor ... same answer to where you asked Tightline Rod's why he/I do not build custom rods any longer!!!!!
RE: Strike-Zone Rods, anyone ever use em, like em...?
ok, but the question is, "Are they any good" ?
I don't care if they are made by drones on the planet mars and shipped back via an ion propelled spaceship.* If they are good, and cheap, then I want one.**

Chris, sorry I can't give you any feedback on your rod question but your last reply has me laughing out loud.....
Wonder if you've looked at Shimano rods - I just bought a couple of them and although made in China the workmanship is really top notch. If you're looking for trolling rods take a look a look at the Tallus model by Shimano - around $150 bucks....aluminum reel seat, aluminum gimble, all Fuji guides....

Birdman
Stay away from the strike zone rods. I bought 4 for $400 about 1 year ago on ebay and the butts literaly fell apart. The reel seat came unglued (above the reel) on two and the gimbals fell off all of them. The blanks and rollers seemed to hold up ok. I have since replaced them with some chaos rods which are very nice.
