Default ??? about jigging rods

do jigging rods generally cast very well? i have two shimano thunnus 120000s and i was wanting one of them set up with a good jigging rod and one of them set up to cast jigs and similar lures with as as much distance as i can. my question is do jigging rods cast very well so i could get two jigging rods and use them for casting too or do i need to get one set up esp for casting?

thanks!

a 6'6" shimano trevalla MH casts pretty well and can still jig most fish. "true" jigging rods are too short and too stout to cast with any real distance...

Are they "ideal" for casting, no. Will they work, and people use them to cast baits, myself included? Yes. If budget/space isn't an issue I'd get another rod for casting, if not then your jigging rod can serve a dual purpose.

Jigging rods are short and designed to jig for long periods of time. Popping rods are designed for casting long distances.
