Swamp, I caught a sailfish the Sunday before this past at the R14 buoy. I didn't do much else however. A couple gaffer dolphin, and a few other knock downs but missed the fish. It would have been real slow if it weren't for the sail. Seemed like the bite was before 9 and after 2:30. I caught the sail at 3:15. It seemed like other boats had also boated several wahoo's by 9am when I was dropping my lines in. The sails were hot all weekend however.
As far a Waverunner goes, I've always heard good things. For my brother's bachelor party several years ago (6-7), one half of the guys chartered it and did very well. I was on another boat and did well also. I think the captain then was Howard Basnight if I remember correctly. It is one of the nicest boats in the fleet down there and I'm sure has a very capable captain. I can't seem to remember the current captains name, but I've heard of him. I walked past the boat last weekend while I was down and saw his name on the boats plaque. You guys should have a great trip I would think.
Now, if I can only have a little luck myself. I'm headed to Ocracoke, and so far it appears the weather will be decent.
Good luck,
