Default Upper Bay Chesapeake bay fishing 'el crappo'

Living on the upper bay is a nightmare, rockfish here are scarse. The rocks i do catch have blisters. I feel like i have died and went to fishing hell. Very much considering trailoring my boat 3 hours to Ocean City and doing offshore fishing. Can anyone tell me if there are any fish there?

Bring it down to the mouth of the Potomac on the VA side, work the Northen Neck Reef and have at it!All the Rockfish you want to catch and two to keep. Stan

Know what you mean.

Went out on a friend's boat last weekend out of the Magothy River. Crazy crowded up there; thought some sailboat knucklehead was going to run up our stern while we were trolling. Very few fish biting.

Why not trailer your boat two hours to Point Lookout. Hit Cornfield Harbor and the Northern Neck reef. Good fishing down here.

Yes I did leave out the part about the Sailboaters, they will come up your stern. Around the Magothy its really bad, they give freedom of navigation a whole new meaning. Unfortunatly for the blow sheets when they are all cozy and moored at 3.00 in the morning, crazy powerboaters rule. Ahhh yea! Nothing like rockin' and rollin' a few masts at the wee hours of the morning.

I don't even waste my time with it anymore. I'll tow the boat to Bethany Beach or the Southern Chesapeake before getting geared up to fish the upper bay. It is fun to putz around Annapolis Harbour or Baltimore Harbour, but forget fishing.
