Default Fishing in Aruba

I am going to Aruba mid-March.

Has anyone fished there? Any reccomendations on a boat. What is running offshore and inshore this time of year?

Decent charter by marriot not fancy boats but they catch. Thread was put in around a month ago on this topic also. There is usually wahoo, mahi and inshore is not much closer than offshore.

I just posted the same question on 1/2/05"looking for advise", I left town right after the post and just returned Saturday last. I have not had the chance to thank all who resonded. I will be going down Feb. 10th through 17th and I will report all that I find out. I was down in 2002 in January, and had a white and a blue in the baits with no hook up. I was fishing "J-string" nice boat, don't think I got 100% from the capt.
I feel very fortunate to have the benefit of all the experience of this forum, a key stroke away. Again thanks.

Cool thing about Aruba, you are in 130 fathoms, a mile out of the harbor!
Volcanic Islands are great for mileage.

If you are into onshore fishing, bring a light rod along. I have done well fishing off the beach early morning for snook. They seem to work the first wave break. Also good success off the jetty down by the Butterfly Farm for snook while watching the sunset(I think the hotel there is the Wyndham).
Good luck

I have been down two times now. Both times my wife and I fished with "J-String", Capt. Speed. Great Capt and mate both times. We caught about 8 wahoo and several blackfin tunas both trips. Wahoo went from 20 to 60 pounds. We were there both times in January, once on our honeymoon then on an aniversery.
