Despite numerous attempts to get my wife to understand where to position a fighting belt and how to use leverage to her advantage, she still insists on jamming it right into her stomach. I gave up trying to convince her that something called the "Laws of Physics" apply in this situation! Perhaps if it were some other fishing pro, she might actually listen. But not to me!

tell her to get her hands off the rod it's not practice time for the bedroom. One thing they like and I found this out from an overheard conversation is that they think it's the same as having a big johnson with the motion used to fight fish. SHHHHH don't tell her that or you may screw it up

I took a woman colleague from work out for her first marlin fish with another guy from the office earlier this year. Provided the normal instructions and tuition the night before (as I have done many times) on working a game chair and a 50w reel/rod combo. Two hours into the trip she is hooked up to a 200lb marlin and immediately proceeds to do everything I told her not to do. Once the fish had settled down I came down to the cockpit and worked the controls there so I could provide fresh guidance. This woman is neither my wife nor my girlfriend, but we have worked together for many years. It might as well have been my wife for all the notice she took of the guidance Worst performance I Have ever seen on a rod on my boat. We eventually got the fish after about 45 minutes (should have been 20 - 25mins). After landing her first marlin less than 3 hours into her first trip, she proceeded to complain that it wasn't very big. This woman is a nice lady and we are friends after working together for so long, but

What I learned - they don't need to be married to you, just have to know you well enough to think they know better.

Agreed. I would love to fish with someone that gets into it like she seems to be.

I teach wingshooting and have learned two truths about teaching women anything. First, you always have someone else teach your spouse, GF, etc. Second, women actually listen and do what you tell them to. They tend to do better as well, because they do not have any bad habits.
