Default Chesapeake Beach fishing

I plan to fish out of Chesapeake Beach, MD this fall and wondered if anyone here could steer me to some good fishing grounds. I prefer trolling and casting but will settle for bait if necessary

Stripers? Blues? What is around in September-November?

I dont get down that way much but I know some of the spots...You can go out of Chesapeake Beach and just head for the radar towers. You can deep troll some parachutes down there in the fall for Trophy Stripers....You can also head out for the Power plant and fish what they call the Rips....They do a lot of bait fishing there besides trolling.

Good luck,,,Lots of good fishing down that way....

Thanks for the map!

Was out today in the rather angry bay, caught a couple tiny stripers feeding at the top but that was it. The bay hasn't been kind to this newbie and his virgin boat so far

google tidal......uh...fish (v. good chesbay fishing site for the latest reports)...fall fishing i'd head south from ches. beach toward the solomons - watch the finder for structure and keep an eye out for birds! should find some stripers, blues and specks this time of year...ltj is the way to go...but they can all be had on a fly!

for general info on fishing the bay, get a copy of "flyfisher's guide to chesapeake bay" by ed russell/bill may - more info about fishing the bay (and catching!) than you'll ever need - one of the best regional books i've ever read (ISBN 1-885106-94-7)

Excellent thans for the advice - I'll look at those sites. Thoughts on trolling speed for stripers? 1.5, 2.5? more?
