Does anybody know anything about these or had any experience with them? I'm new to outriggers, but I would like to install a pair on my new Grady White 258 Journey on the hard-top. After looking through catalogs such as Boater's World, West Marine, etc., I can't figure out whether they come in pairs or are sold individually. I'm also curious as to which other brands/models would suffice and where the best place to get them. I do need a system that can fold up/down because I'll be trailering when not kept in the water. Any advice is appreciated.
Always sold in pairs, except for the little stuff like clips from Aftco. No first hand experience on the model your asking about, so I will not comment further on Lee. I know the collapsible Taco's are very popular.
I have also been looking at the Taco 15' telescopics. So far BPS has the best price. Taco also has very sturdy looking gunnel mounts, witch is what I need. They have some nice mounts for the T-top also.

You will also have to buy poles. Get the heavy duty poles. They have the 1.5 inch diameter. They cost more, but I run with the poles extended. I don't think that I'd want to run with extended light weight poles.
Last boat had the taco's and current boat has the lee's sidewinders. I like the taco's because of the telescoping poles, but wasn't crazy about the the hand nut system that tightens / loosens the up and down adjustment. it came loose a couple times (not many) and the rigger would crash down underway ( no damage, but it shouldn't happen none the less). The poles telescoped and that was the big seller for me (because I trailer). my current boat has the lee sidewinders and i find these to be a little better ( the up and down adjustment is far more reliable and sturdy) the swing outs are as easy to use as the tacos.... As far as the poles, the Lee's do not telescope. It is not an issue trailering my new boat because the riggers do not stick past my props when trailering. So if someone was to rear end me, they would wipe out my outboards before they bent a rigger. And at that point, their time left on this planet would be counted in seconds....
As far as the up-down adjustment goes on the Taco Grand Slams, can they go vertical (90 degrees) to laying flat, or can they just go up 45 or 60 degrees? I was thinking about putting a flag or two on them, but wouldn't be able to do it if they can only pivot up 45 degrees. Thanks for the replies!
