Default Bottom Paint Color?

New member here. Just wanted to see if the board had an opinion on bottom paint color for fishing. I have a Scout 175SF and fish on the east coast inshore (trout, drum, flounder, etc..) and slightly offshore on calm days (spanish, kings, dolphin?) Well, I am painting the bottom and my neighbor just gave me some bottom paint that he had leftover. Only problem is that the paint is red.

So my question is: Would a red bottom effect in any way my fishing? Do fish see the bottom color of the boat? Would they avoid the boat? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If a fish saw a red bottom why would that affect them more than a blue or a black bottom? Also with the sun overhead...almost every color will be dark...I wouldn't worry about it as long as it kept my bottom clean.

I am partial to Blue also. Can't say for sure, but when I changed my bottom color from Black (how it came) to Blue, I seem to have caught more fish - but can I prove it - no.
I know some guys who swear by painting squid or baitfish on their bottoms too.

I dont buy into colors raising more fish, frankly its a dark shadow no matter what color to the fish. I just like blue haha.

Dark Colours seem to have produced the best results for me, my new rig will be dark blue.
Light colours especially white will give a negative effect as you boat could look like a big shark.
my 2c for what its worth

Fish, and sharks have white bellies for a reason, and that is not to be more visible, but to blend in to the background, the ski.
White would look like the ski, or clouds...dark colors are way more visible when you are under water, looking up.

I have black, and it is kinda un-noticable when the boat is in the slip..not sure what the fish think.. still seem to catch a few .. My buddy had an interesting point when I asked why he painted his bottom a bright red.. He said the only time the color would really make a difference to him is in the event the boat is upside down, and coasties are searching for him.. It that case he wants it easy to spot

Black or White. If you go White, try Pettit Vivid or Bluewater Kolor...

Paint the bottom black, then paint in white, what looks like whatever bait emulates the bait you mostly uitilize!

Squid, ..... I've painted an entire school of fish on my bottom in white. Does it work? Who the hell knows. ....
