Default shimano 8000d baitrunner

I recently purchased the new Shimano 8000D baitrunner. I inspected it thoroughly prior to purchasing it and after line was spooled on the reel, no problems with reel. I used it for the first time Monday in Delaware Bay bunker chunking. Caught a little 25 inch bass (released). Went to set the line back out and noticed the spool was crooked. Removed the spool and found the shaft was bent. Took reel back to tackle shop where I purchased it and they replaced it with no problem, cant say enough about the great sales staff and customer service. I was told by the staff that it was the second baitrunner 8000D brought in within the last two weeks with same problem. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem with these new baitrunner reels?

I just picked up two of them, and filled them with 50 braid. I hope they fish this weekend, going for mangrove and reds.

We went out to put the pain to some mangrove last weekend. Hooked into a few dozen, and a few 20 LB red snapper. One 8000d fresh out the box feels like it threw a few gear teeth. Bringing it back today. Hope it is a single lemon, but thinking of bringing both back.

I used a new 12000 one time and the clicker broke, the tackle shop owner told me that Shimano told him to expect it. I wish I would have stuck with the old ones.

I held off buying any of the new models since the previous ones are so bullet proof. Hopefully, in a year or two they'll have the issues worked out.

IBecause of reliability and the best gear for the price. Is shimano going the way of yamaha and not making a bullet proof Item any more. just trying to bank on past reputation?
