I have Mini Green Machine that I fish in my spread from time to time. It's rigged on 100lbs mono leader, crimped to a 6/0 Mustad 7691; stiff rig style.
I've caught dolphin on it, but can't think of anything else in particular that have hit it. Up in NC, I know it was popular for dolphin and YFT; but since YFT are an accidental catch for the most part here in FL, no joy.

It's funny, I had that lure for over 10 years and never got it wet. Put it in a few years ago and caught 2 sailfish the first 2 trips. Got bit off the next trip and I never replaced it. Recently, I bought a Green Machine look-a-like and have it ready but haven't used it yet. I am in NE Florida.
Although I left blue water years ago, I've always considered the Green Machine as an old standby. As long as you keep the weeds off of it, anything that comes up in your spread is likely to eat it. It was one of a few lures that I could always count on for dolphin back when I was commercial hook & lining them.... I never worked more than three lines, usually just two and made a point of running to likely areas, then dropping the lures to work past the birds, or the floating object, etc. The only time I worked lures regularly was for dolphin, so I can't comment on them for billfish. I seem to remember that lure was originally designed for white marlin, but can't be certain...
