Default rigging a penn 130

I just recently bought a penn 130. Some guys at home tell me to put all mono on it and
others say put braid and then some mono top shot. What do you guys think i should put on it. And what test. I'm gonna be blue finnen with it. I know I need to use fluro carbon leader with possibly a tuna trap rig with steel leader coiled up in the bait that will un roll when the tuna strikes. Whan i get a good set up i'm gonna get two more of the same.

I'm also deciding on a rod. I was looking at the penn tuna stick rod. Or maybe a custum. What production rod would u reccomend?

any advice welcomed thanks

Fill it with 500 yards of 200 lb test braid and then load the rest with 130 lb mono. If you plan to fish that thing stand-up with 35-40 lbs of drag, you really want a super heavy duty custom rod in the 5' to 5'6" size.

Use 200lb test Dacron to back it. Putting braid will cost you a small fortune and you have plenty of capacity so no need to worry.

The normal setup is mostly 200 lb dacron with a 300 foot header of mono 130 to 200 lb test with a 200lb test floracarbon leader about 12 feet long ....with a 12 live bait hook ... this set is more flexable for live baits....
