Default Cedar Plugs & line twist?

Is 'line twist' just an accepted problem when trolling cedar plugs, or are there swivels that will actually prevent it ?

i've never had that problem even with regular barrel swivels, but a ball bearing swivel should fix it.

Hit the lead part of the cedar plug with a hammer it will get it to wobble rather than spin

Balance the plug. Pull the plug up the leader and hold the leader tightly horizontal with the hook facing down. Spin the cedar plug on the leader above the hook with the hook down. When the plug stops spinning is should be balanced with the heaviest side down. Then slide it back on the hook. This may help.

really is as clear as my last post you put it on the ground and hit it with a hammer on the lead end, it changes the dynamics of the plug. Works well for those that spin rediculously it works for single plugs and in some areas the mates swear by this. We don't do it unless we have an issue with a plug, just don't do it with the chains because they normaly ballance each other out.... hope this helps

+1 here.

All Cedar Plugs have a keel. The method described above is all you need to do to find it and it'll swim perfectly.
