Default Going to Venice LA after Christmas. Suggestions?

I created this post in the Gulf Coast section as well but figured I would get some additional views here.

Basically heading to Venice to Duck hunt after Christmas, would like to take the Contender but I don't know the waters, rigs, locations, etc. Just looking for a contact to speak with. Willing to hire a mate for the day to shorten the learning curve.

Thanks!

Christmas in Venice.

Here's a thought. Launch at Venice Marina. Go find some bait. Usually mullet, pogies and hardtails. Mullet may be easier to find that time of year.

Head out to Southwest Pass (about a 30 mile run down the Mississippi in protected waters). Then head South about 23 miles to West Delta 143. Look for tuna busting the surface or find a shrimp boat and chum around for the yellowfin or blackfin tuna.

Good luck, watch the weather, stay safe, file a float plan.

If the weather is fair, the wahoo bite will be wide open. Always the week or so after christmas is a little slow for tuna unless you run long.
