Question What Reel Is This?

A buddy of mine sold me this reel for 10 bucks. The reel on the outside is a little rough but it is in excellent condition on the inside. I have trinidads, internationals, and tyrnos reels and this cheapie is smooth as glass just like these expensive reels.

Anyways now to the point. The mfg and model identifiers are not on this reel. I believe it is a Penn or a Diawa but I cannot be sure. Please chime in and tell me who the mfg and what model this is? I would like to grab a few more to get as back ups or a set of "throw aways" for when I have people on board that dont know their head from their heels about fishing.

I think this is the best $10 purchase I have ever made....

I had an old Diawa 50 H, looked like the same reel, still in use today. Very good reel.

Looks like a Diawa sealine 400. I have three, they are great reels and retail for about 150.00 so you got a good buy.

Yup, Sealine 350 or 400.I have a half dozen of these reels . They never seemed to get the respect they deserved. I commercial groundfished with these reels for years ,they outlasted all the others and were always my favorites. Smooth and tough as nails.

Check on E-Bay every once in a while they pop up for a decent price. North coast is right they are tough as nails and very low maintenance. They are great reels for cod fishing as well as wire set ups for stripers. Really they are a good buy even at 150.00 considering they will last a loooong time.

IMHO they were/are better-made, smoother & more durable than the Penn Senators-even when the Senators were 'Made in USA"... Now that the Senators are made in China, the Daiwa Sealines are dramatically better reels... I've heard rumors they are being D/C'd

I have two reel bags full of those Sealines. Really aghead of there time. (at the time) Al Aluminum frames etc. Beat the PENN's by a mile. Put greased carbon drags in them and they are a great little part.
