I have a 700TE, I really think it is a well executed reel, SUPER smooth in use. I have used my for Halibut upt to 130-140 LB's and schoolie sized Tuna. I was dissatisfied with the stock drags, so I had them swapped for greased carbon fiber, very smooth with SMOOTH start up. I fish mine with 50 or 65 lb spectra and a top of whatever Im using. Keep in mind that the reel will make more drag than it can fish.
