Default Fin-Nor Santiago?

Anyone have any input on the Santiagos? I have read everything about them on here but still not much info.
My Boss is looking to ditch his 20yo Penn 80w's with a new set of 50w's.
I have a source to buy a new set at dealer cost but he was interested in the Tiagras and researching things a little more.
What are your options on the Santiagos compared to the Tiagras and Avets?
Thanks
Jeff H

I played with them at ICAST and thought they were very impressive, but know no one with hands on, "on the water" experience

We got a 30 just to see what it was like. So far been a great reel but can't say it has caught a lot of big fish, just small tuna and dolphin.

I tell you one thing though. They are beautiful however if being beautiful was any testament to fish catching power the the Penn Senators wouldn't do as good as they do.

Back to the point though. I think I am going to get one of the Santiago's. There has been some real good deals on eBay and I'm going to pick one up on there.

Tuna fished with a set of 50's one day and caught numerous 50-60lb YF and the reels had smooth drags and seemed to be very well built. I always said that when I decided to get new reels I would go with the Fin-Nor's. I have a few of the OFS series spinners and they are great reels!!
