Default Sabiki rigs

What size do you use for pinfish? I used two different sizes last time out and cant remember what size the little one was but it did all of the catching, with a little squid.

Size 6 or 8 is what we use for medium to large pins.

Yea. I have found they have doubled my bait catching ability. Its like putting a fish magnet on the end of the rig...

If any one knows where I can find a good constant supply of these I would appreciate it. I can only find them 1 here and 1 there. They get lost over time because of bigger fish taking the bait of my rigs.

Yea it is a chum basket I put on the end of my sabiki's. I either fill it with oat meal and pogy juice or I put actual chum in it. I fill it up as much as possible each time I throw it.

We used to make chum bags for our sabikis using "plastic cheese cloth" like the material they make the wifes "spoofa" or whatever the hell those things are called. You know the puffy things they use instead of a wash cloth. The ones with smaller holes work better. Cut into 6" inch squares plop some some chum in the middle form it into a pouch twist it and tie it off with mono put a loop in the mono and throw a bunch in the freezer till needed. If you lose it or it empties no big deal, hook on another with the weight and off you go.

I keep a squirt bottle full of menhaden and give the rig a shot before I drop it. It seems to help. Some guys soak their rigs in menhaden oil or Gulp juice. This time of year the spanish macs or thick and those chum baskets/bombs would not last long. I wish someone would make a sabiki with a scent like Gulp bait. Maybe make the little red or green parts spongy so they would hold menhaden oil.

I am not trying to criticize.

I have tried the scent adding before but I fill like the baits I try to catch like cigar/boston macks/lizard fish/and etc do what they see. I believe if they see food they will eat. I don't know if they are smart enough to smell like the bigger fish.

I seem to get better results out of chum than scenting the rig. So that is what my belief is based on.
