| Bass n' Bugs with Dean n' Martin 10/16 w/pics Got an invite from my good buddy Martin “the looper” to do a Bass n’ Bug trip out of Marina Del Rey, along with another good buddy, Dean “Bank Robber”. The traffic on the south 405 fwy was the worst I’ve ever experienced, for not having any accidents, just a closed left hand lane south of the 10 fwy which backed up the traffic into the San Fernando Valley. It sucked big time to say the least. When we finally got on the water, we were greeted with epic weather conditions and the Bass were on the chew. We caught a dozen or so Sand Bass, a Calico Bass, 5 Bonito, 12 Mackerel, a Sardine and 2 Lizard fish. Here I am with my best Bass of the day, a 21.5 inch Sand Bass. Dean with a nice night time Sand Bass. Another nice night time Cloud Bass. The celestial function on my GPS rated the day as “Good”, and sure enough, the Spinies were crawling really good and we ended up getting limits for 3 by 10:30pm. Yippee!! This was my first trip of the season and it was awesome to see and hear all those tails flipping and flapping. Here is a picture of Martin’s fish hold. Sweeeeet!! Martin and some nice Bugs. Dean and a couple quality size Bugs. Vinnie with as nice Spiny Lobster. Had a great evening on the big pond with Dean n’ Martin, and I can’t wait to do it again. Thanks again for the invite Martin. Sea ya soon. Till next tide,
