There are outrigger rigging kits that contain the cord, pulleys, release clips and bungees. IIRC they come in different price/quality ranges.
I looked at the link on rigging them and it is pretty accurate. I always ran the outrigger lines so the bait skipped in the first or second wake put out by my boat. The pic in that link would take a very large circle to turn the boat! At times I would get an outrigger knock down but no hook up. Then the flat line next to that rigger would hook up. I'm convinced that even if you get no strikes on the OR's that they still attract fish when they are skipping. I usually run No 2 or 3 planers on my flat lines, one back about 30-50' and one back about 75-100'. Doing it this way I can turn sharply without tangling lines and get back to an area. |
