Default planner help
Ok I just bought two planners… I want to know if I can deploy them from my downriggers. I Have cannon manual downriggers they are tournament grade with metal spools. I was told to set them at 45 degrees to relive some stress. I have 200 pound power pro on my down riggers. Is 200 pound big enough to do the double swivel thing from my downrigger? I don’t want to damage my downriggers… I have backing plates holding the downriggers to my boat...

Yes you can run a Planer on your Downrigger - I run # 4, 6 & 8 - because that the largest I own ........
# 1, 2 & 3 run from the rod or parachute cord hand line .......
Been on boats that run large Planers # 16, 24 & 32 on 90 to 125 feet of 300 # mono with a rubber band & large paper clip release to the fishing line ........
