Default Rip Charts

Looking to join ripcharts.com. On the application there is a field for a coupon code. Anyone know where to find or have a code?

I find hiltons offshore to be MUCH better than rip charts......rip charts never has a clear image of true water color.

Hi Southern Hunter,

This is Philip, one of the owners of RipCharts. I am quite confused by your statement above.

The confusing part is how can the other service be better at offering true color imagery when it is not even part of their product offering?

Also, in regard to clear imagery. Heck it has been a pretty good year for images, not as much cloud cover as last year. That is the one limitation of the technology, it does not see through clouds very well.

Regardless, I will be happy to give you an over the phone tutorial on the service if you are having trouble navigating the imagery. Additionally, if you are not satisfied with the service, I will be happy to refund your money.

It looks like you fish out of LA, here is a true color image for your area from yesterday, not really sure what your expectations of a clear image are, but this one looks pretty clear and you can definitely see the rip:

Also, thank you to those that have signed up! I will leave the coupon code above active for awhile (I did not realize it was still active until I started seeing it used again). Regardless, feel free to use it and yes, it is for a $10 discount.

Please, call me with any questions or concerns.

Tight Lines,
Philip Kuebler

I wont go out unless I see ideal conditions on bettering odds of hooking some big fish! Love the upwell and downwell pinpoints! Use the tutorials if you don't understand great service guys!

I use Rip and Terrafin all summer long. We do get screwed with a bit of cloud cover over here; not fault of either company. But, it is odd that the two services often show different views from time to time.

Sure do wish that rip had an app for my IPhone and IPad tho... Hint hint.

I'm currently looking at all 3 (Ripcharts , terrafin, and hiltons). Super easy iPhone use is one of the highest features on my list.

I joined Ocean Tmp this year, but I didn't know about RipChart. I think I will try them next year. Hopefully, the Garmin 52 SAT will help as well.

I use rip charts daily, however it is very difficult to pinpoint locations on my I phone and maybe I am doing some thing wrong, I plan on contacting Phillip to find out. Again I am in no way knocking RC this issue may be consistent with the others as well or as I said may be user error

As best I can tell, hiltons and terrafin have actually apps that can be downloaded from iTunes that take care of the settings etc foe you and to which you can down load the charts. At least when I looked at it last Ripcharts had a set of instructions that was too complicated to me for me to fool with. Otherwise I really like what I seen on their site and this tutorials.
