Default Quest for The One

Yesterday I caught this show featuring Trevor Gowdy fishing on Mark the Shark's boat fishing for "Monster Sharks" in the air-chair fighting Chair. They put out 3 baits and proceeded to fight and kill a 12 foot hammerhead shark.

May I ask what they are going to do with that fish besides hang it on the dock for the tourons and then toss it into the dumpster? What is the point of that?

Don't give me sht just because it's legal. Trevor Gowdy is no sportsman (let alone that dbag Captain Mark in FL) and his father would puke if he watched him kill that fish for no reason.

Suprised to see that behavior in this day and age.

My thoughts exactly. What good is stinking hammerhead? I am looking up his email address now to fire him off a terse a$$ chewing.

Ok this is what I sent Versus:

Trev Gowdy

Bio:
Trev Gowdy, the new generation of the American Sportsman

A new generation? That, Versus is pure BS. I caught the show this past weekend. I hunt and fish and run a 35 Bertram Sportfish. Why in the world did Gowdy feel he needed to kill that hammerhead? The fish has no food value; did it end up in a dumpster back at the dock? I am posting this up the website The Hull Truth. We await your response.

I saw that show. And the same thing occurred to me too. It made me sad to see the way that hammerhead was handled. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

Do you guys get the sense he is a big boozer? He looks swollen all the time. He clearly is trying to make a name for himself in the shadow of his Pop. No easy task but when you act like an ass on your Trophy oriented top of food chain mega Quest you open yourself to criticism. And I kill sht all the time - the difference is I eat it.

I dont like the show at all and cant see how he landed the show to begin with. Larry Daulberg's Hunt for Big Fish is so much better and that guy seems like a really good guy that cares about whatever fish he targets.

Default Gowdy

Larry Dahlberg seems like a class act and I agree that the Gowdy show is all about the thrill kill and nothing about sport. I do however think that most of the captains preach and (at least on TV) practice the conservation angle which is critical for the rec fisherman to understand and promote.

Hats of to the true pro's and a dumpster to the bullslingers

How about Dean Travis Clark from Sport fishing magazine ( And TV show) who advises you to take your trailer safety chain off before you back down the ramp... Duh!

It was amost sad to see Dennis Braid team up w/ this guy for the show "Trev Gowdy Monster fish" Half the fights they show are all edited and fake. This guy went day time swording, couldnt catch one so they went inshore and killed a large manta ray. Claiming it was 800lbs. The BS all the weights of the fish too.

The shark was donated to science is "spin". Just their BS way to justify what they filmed.
I have not heard a peep from Versus. Go to www.versuscountry.com/feedback.aspx and leave your feedback. That is only way they will get the message.
I also sent an email to sales@echobridgehe.com ECHO BRIDGE HOME ENTERTAINMENT
3089 Airport Road, La Crosse, WI 54603 sell DVD's of the shows.

Bass ProShops are also running a promotion for Quest. Send them an email telling them the show has nothing to do with sportsmanship and to stop all representation.

Also suggest you will not be purchasing anything from Bass until they get their $hit squared away.

Gowdy is an a-hole that has got to go. Now Larry D's Hunt for Big Fish is the real thing. Larry also turned me on the making my own resin trolling heads and by using his DIY shows I am making some I hope killer shark trolling baits. Oh by the way butterfly jigs are a piece of cake. All you need is one as a mold and you can make your own

I don't like the show either they did the same thing with a big salmon shark in Alaska, Bill Erseth or whoever the hunter guy is is a clown. I'm pretty sure some of the hunts are high fence (deer and elk). What surprises me if I'm not mistaking is that BassProShops sponsors the show.
