I'm heading to Aruba 3/29-4/5 anyone know of a decent charter and what's bitting this time of year. Might be interested in splitting a charter if anyone plans on being there that week. Any finishing to be done off the beach and what lures to use. Thanks for the information. Take care Rob
There is some fishing of the rocks, people here use pieces of squid or other bait, no lures. For chartering there are several options, depending on how luxurious you want it. Should run arround $300-$350 for half a day. Boats run from 30 to 53 ft. Always take a morning charter. If you want any specific info send me a pm.
Just got back from there last week. Charters are going to be $300-$350 for a half day. If you run out of the City Harbor, they start fishing about 1 mile off the beach on the south side of the island. Figure on catching dolphin and small blackfins over there. We went out on the Lady Catherine, and had a nice time.
IF you go from the Palm Beach area, prices are still the same. IF you have your sea legs, ask for a boat that will run up near the California Lighthouse point area. It will be a slightly rougher ride as the prevailing swells will be coming around the point, but the boats that fished there were able to find wahoo.
I have fished in Aruba about 10 times over the past years and depending on the time of year you have a shot at Blue Marlin, Wahoo, small Albacore, Yellowfin, Kingfish, Mahi, and other stuff. The time of year you are going is prime Wahoo season, I have had half days where we easily had 8-10 fish up to 50 pounds. Many double and triple hookups. I have always fished with Teaser Charters, local family that knows the waters well. Check them out at www.teasercharters.com, I will also tell you that time of year 5-8 ft seas is pretty normal with the trade winds that blow 25 every day. Half day I would suggest the morning, afternoon charters can get blown out.

i fished with teaser charters as well. It was late January but u had all the wahoo u wanted. Mostly small fish. North end of the island is pretty nasty.
If you go from the Palm beach area, try the Caroline rigth off the Pier between the marriot surf club and Holiday Inn, (closer to surf club. $325 -$350 for four hours. You catch big Mahi, big Wahoo, Baracuda, small albocore & bonito. Aside from the 10 or 12 fish we caught of the aforementioned, I got lucky and caught a sail fish. Not to down-play it, but, I don't really consider it fishing. The boat takes you out, you troll at a very fast clip, when a line or lines go off, you sit in a chair, the mate hands you the pole, and you pull in the catch. The mate takes it off the hook, throws it in a cooler and rebaits the line. Then you start all over again. When you get back to the dock, you take some pictures of your catch, if you like, take 1/3 of the catch, have it cleaned, if you like, and off you go. Bring sun screen and a hat, water and soft drinks are included.

That all depends on your skills, experience and what you agree on before your go out..
Every time I have fished with Teaser Charters in Aruba I have pretty much maned the cockpit myself, setting out lines and when we hookup I will take the rod myself and usually bring my own belt and fight the fish standing up. If you make it clear to them you have experience and want to set your own lines and fish they usually will accommodate you. They will also supply light tackle if requested, sucks catching Mahi and Wahoo on 50 wides, for me they bring the 20's and 25's. 2 years ago I had a 200lb Blue Marlin on a 25 with 40 lb test.
I will be going to Aruba in mid March. I have booked three days of offshore fishing already and now trying to fill the rest of the trip with some inshore fishing. Does anyone have any recommendations for inshore fishing in Aruba. Bonefish, snook, tarpon?????
