I like most of us love to watch all the saltwater fishing shows on tv and it seems to me that one thing seems to remain the same. It looks as all hosts wear the stainless Rolex and I notice even a lot of the guides wear them also.
Is this standard issue and do these hosts make that kind of money are is it like golf and other sports where Rolex gives them the watches for all of us to notice
Would love to have a stainless Rolex but do not see it in the budget in the next few years

I wear my Rolex to parties and fish with my Seiko. The Rolex, albeit a work art, keeps crappy time and involves periodic trips to the shop for maintenance. The Seiko, keeps spooky accurate time, is rugged and inexpensive compared to the Rolex. When I was young, the Rolex was the chronometer of choice, now it's more of a nice piece of jewelery.
I do not where any jewelry - except watches - I have a weakness for them. I have never owned a Rolex, but would love a Submariner two-tone. I do have a Breitling Super Ocean and I love it. Heavy, and built like a tank. I wear it on the boat and to formal affairs - it "goes" in any environment.
I am not sure if they are sponsors of these shows, but I do see a lot of them n the nautical environment
I am more a fan of Tag. It is waterproof to 200 meters (a bit of overkill). It is very strong, durable, keeps great time, and holds up to the riggers of everything I have put it through. It also goes just as well when I have to go formal....

My Omega Seamaster has been a daily wearer for 12 years... One trip to the shop for a tune up. Would like a Rolex, but think I would be nervous hanging it over the gunnel. The Omega Planet Ocean may be my next toy.
I had this pic on photobucket from a previous thread. I truly love it. It is bigger than the Rolex. If I got the Rolex, I would have to add links for it to fit. I also am partial to the blue face.
Some years ago, while night fishing in the wilmington canyon for tuna. A wealthy business friend was helping land a tuna with me.Somehow the catch snapped or something and drfting down in the water right next to the tuna in deep plue 600ft water was that expensive watch! First thing I asked was? was that a fake I hope.{seen some that kept better time than real ones} I wouldnt know the diference anyway? It was real! wonder if it got eaten on the way down?
I do not wear the Breitling when I am big-game fishing - I have a Bulova that I picked up very cheap - but it is still a very nice watch. I once smashed a crystal on a nice Seiko when gaffing a big mako - fished went bananas and smacked my arm into the side of the boat before the pin released
rolex keeps terrible time ,they are either slow or fast. Rolex is the only watch company in the world that still makes a waterproof watch. All others will be resistant up to ...... look at them now $2 to 100K .I have had mine since 1986, get tune ups and it looks great, plus I am always early, it gains 20 minutes about every month.I do not surf or fish with it ,the clasp can get loose and will fall off.twice I have caught it!
