Not sure about the water temps, but I have seen a few people at the Rocks Village Bridge.
I'm assuming they were after Shad, which means the stripers won't be far behind.

cj, the docks went in on Friday, I launched there on Saturday morning.

I ran all the way up to Rock's Village and back.* I saw a few shore fishermen but I think it's still about 2 weeks too early.

GF - Nice ride! Did you run into much debris coming down the river? I've
seen a few pretty good size trees in the water over the past few weeks.

Yup, plenty of debris coming downstream.* My passengers have been keeping a sharp eye out for floaters.

GF,

What dock is that in the picture? The one at the pump out station?

Thanks.. for a second there I got all discombobulated thinking that was on one of the docks at the ramp.

Be careful there, there are a lot of nasty bolts and such sticking out of that pump out dock.

GF - How much water is there at the pump-out dock at low tide? I've heard it's inaccessable when
the tide is within an hour of dead low either way.

cj,

You have about 3 feet of water at dead low. The ramp gets very slippery when the tide is out.

I've seen dingys on the inside of that dock high and dry on low lows, but I've always been able to pull up on the outside.

Yep, Hopefully going to get in tonight or Saturday. Perhaps check out Jefferies on Sunday.

Although I hear the bottom fishing sucks right now.

Use Caution During Low Tide in the Spring It is very low !!

Cod is pretty slow right now. I think I would break out the bait rods and look for some haddock. I heard Eastmans was into a good run of them a week or so ago.

Thought the Salisbury docks would go in at this time as well. Nope not in yet. Went over to Cashman and splashed there for a shake down and tossed some bait overboard for an hour or so. Nothing happening. Started over to the Parker for fun but the wind was blowing a little on the cold side. Spun around and stayed in the river. Had to help some oriental folks folks get their brand new boat started or no one else was going to launch on the west side of the ramp. It helps when you lower the engine into the water, push the key in to choke it, AND install the safety lanyard. When they looked like they were heading in, we did also. Only to beat them to the ramp so that we did not have to wait for the next tide . Stopped at Sylvan Street Grill for some warm up food and drink for the ride home. Boat ran great so I'm happy.
