Can anyone recommend a local guide (or THT member) to fish with for 1/2 day while I'm in the Bahamas this week? Answer here or feel free to PM me. Thanks.
There are a few charter captains over in Lucaya, a 15 minute taxi ride from anywhere in Freeport. I haven't used any there and I don't think highly of them either, but that's an option for you. Discuss who keeps the fish, if that's an issue with you b/c a buddy had a fight with a captain that wanted all of the fish to sell.

Agree, as my experience has been that the charter boat operators in Freeport are all whores who cater to the tourist who has little or no knowledgeable about fishing.
Thanks guys. I will look for someone off the beaten path. I don't care who keeps the catch, but would rather see it all released. Hey, this is much needed time off with the family. I will sit by the pool and read before I hook-up with a tourist trap guy. Thanks for your input!

You might want to enjoy the family by the pool and save the fishing for another time.
It's a bonifide tourist trap. Have a great time.
Saved the fishing for another time & place! Hanging at the pool bar, enjoying the family time and eating grouper cooked in a variety of ways. We are at te Westin at Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort. Very nice place, friendly atentive staff, food is very good. I would highly recommend it.
While you are there, hit the "Sand Bar". Its a local bar that is a great out of the way place on the beach (minutes from Lucaya). It is a family owned bar with great food, cold beer and will have the football games on. Best yet, its kid friendly with outside deck with a quiet ocean view.
